Libby Sharon Warfield
June 1st, 1952 - February 24th, 2018
Leslie Elizabeth “Libby” Sharon Warfield, 65, wife of David Allen Warfield met her savior Jesus Christ and entered Heaven’s Gate on February 24, 2018 after bravely facing death throughout a long and courageous battle to overcome cancer. Born on June 1, 1952 as the first child to the late Leslie Murphy Sharon and Jean Clifton Sharon, she was a lifelong resident of Woodford County where for the most of her life she lived in Midway. A 1970 graduate of Woodford County High, she studied Interior Design at Midway College and the University of Kentucky. After working for others in the field for several years, she developed her own design firm, Libby Warfield Interiors, which she continued throughout her life. An exceptionally talented individual, not only were her interiors exquisite with detail and often her own handiwork, but she was also was an accomplished musician who played at least eight musical instruments. For over 50 years she provided the music for numerous weddings and funerals throughout Central Kentucky and was the Music Director and/or Organist beginning at the age of 14 for Midway Baptist, Millville Christian, Midway Christian and Troy Presbyterian Churches and many other churches as an interim. She was certified by the Kentucky Board of Architects as one of the first Certified Interior Designers in the Commonwealth and also held memberships in the American Society of Interior Designers and the American Guild of Organists. She developed her ideals and values early in life and always stayed true to her convictions with the hope that she was contributing to make the world a better place. Her civic interest led to becoming a graduate of the Citizens Police Academy and being CERT certified before entering the political scene. She was serving her second term on the Midway City Council at the time of her death, following her mother and son’s past representation on the same council. In addition to her husband of 45 years and her mother, she is also survived by a daughter, Wendora Jean (Jonathan) Creech and son David Matthew Warfield, two grandchildren that she adored – Austin Murphy Creech and Mackenzie Frances Creech, two sisters – Peggy Sharon and Cindy (Philip) Karrick, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles on Tuesday, February 27th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the Funeral at Midway Christian Church on Wednesday, February 28th at 11:00 am, followed by graveside service at the Midway Cemetery and a fellowship meal at the church. James Warfield Jr, Robert Warfield, Austin Creech, Jonathan Creech, Mason Karrick and Spencer Karrick will serve as Pall Bearers.
