Ralph Charles Brown, 75, was born in Oklahoma City, OK on March 15, 1943, and died in Lexington, KY on April 12, 2018. He is survived by his sons Gabriel (Ruth) Brown and Andrew Brown; mother Doris (Shepherd) McQuese; grandchildren Karen Harper Brown and Clay Walker Brown; nephew Noah Weis and niece Zoe Weis. He is preceded in death by his father Oris C. Brown and sister Sherrill Weis. Ralph was an educator and administrator at the University of Kentucky, Gatton College of Business and Economics. He retired from there as both the Director of Alumni Affairs and a lecturer of courses in Business Management. For relaxation, he was a "Buddhist of Convenience", an avid reader of science fiction, who enjoyed political satire, crossword puzzles and listening to music. He enjoyed meditation, and cooking decadent meals for family and friends. Ralph loved his life at home and described himself as a “Happy Introvert” A "Celebration of Life" is planned for April 21, 2018 in Lexington, from 4-8PM. For details please contact his son at [email protected] In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ralph’s name to the Sierra Club at www.sierra.secure.force.com/donate "My life has been meaningful. Not in a global or cosmic sense, or anything that altered history, but meaningful to myself and other people I hold close in personal ways. I try to be kind to people, and it's a treasure to me that people have told me I have made a difference in their life...and I appreciate that" - Ralph C. Brown, October 2017
