John W. Manley, Sr. 94, went home to be with the Lord May 16, 2018. He is preceded in death by the love of his life Betty Manley; granddaughter Jennifer; parents Ernest and Naome (Crow) Manley; 4 brothers and 1 sister Mary. John is survived by his 7 children Sharron (Rick), Linda, Peggy (Scott), John Jr. Mike (Teresa), David (Tina), Julie (Dennis), Missy (Danny); 19 grandchildren Leigh, Danny Jr. Allison, Amanda, Donna, Robbie, Alex, Jordan, Cameron, Addison, Felicia, Angela, John, Damien, Nick, Kayla, Little Danny, Jacob; 35 great-grandchildren Brodie, Shannon, Austin, Rhett, Danielle, Whitney, Lucas, Gabby, Jason, Joseph, Michael, Sarah, Landon, Maddilynn, Haylie, Dakota, Landon, Sissy, Michael, Tristan, Braxton, Blanton, Emma, Willow, Little John, Bryson, Samuel, William, Avah, JoAnnah, Riley, Nate, Sophie, Brady, Lylah and Peyton. John was a sports enthusiast. He was a “300” Bowler and an excellent Golfer. He also loved watching the Cincinnati Reds and his beloved UK Wildcats. For excitement, he enjoyed watching the horses’ race. Later in life, he enjoyed quiet walks in his neighborhood, or watching old westerns on TV. Any morning you drove by his house at sunrise, he was on the porch reading the morning paper. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 5-8PM, Monday, May 21, 2018. Funeral service will be 12PM, Tuesday, May 22, at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, followed by a burial at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens at 1:30PM with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s name to Disabled Vets, at www.dav.org/donate‎
