Dorothy "Dottie" Balk, 90, our beloved Mother passed away on October 21, 2018 in Lexington, KY. She was born May 17, 1928 to the late Dewey and Elizabeth Bain James in Kenosha, WI. Dorothy was a homemaker, loved her family, loved to shop and loved her dog Molly. Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John C. Balk in December 2016 and 2 brothers. Dorothy is survived by her children Kent (Teresa) Balk, Steve (Toni) Balk and Raleigh James; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services are Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville, KY. Visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial to follow at Camp Nelson at 2:30 PM. The family has requested contributions be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
