Betty J. Dozier
December 26th, 1930 - February 17th, 2019
Betty J. Dozier, 88, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019. Betty was born December 26, 1931 to the late Clifford and Sarah Simpson Dozier. Betty was a charter member of the Woodford County Business and Professional Women’s Club. She served in all roles of the club including as President and was serving as Parliamentarian of the Club at her death. In addition, she held leadership roles on both the regional and the state level of the BPW, and was elected to serve as President of the Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women in 1996. In her various roles in BPW she travelled extensively to visit clubs throughout the state and she also attended numerous meetings outside of Kentucky. She was an active lifelong member of Versailles Baptist Church. She had a particular fondness for the Preschool Department where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the 4 year old class for many years. At her death, she was a member of the J.O.Y. (Jesus First, Others Second, Yourself Last) adult ladies Sunday School class and greatly enjoyed fellowship with her friends from that class. As a retired teacher and school administrator, she was an active member of the Woodford County Retired Teachers Association. Betty is survived by nieces; Jenny Burke, MS and Amy Samuelson, GA; a great niece Kelly Juzikis, AL; great great nieces and nephew, Violet Juzikis, Lukas Juzikis and Katie Samuelson; a sister in-law Sue Dozier, Versailles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sherman T. Dozier and a sister, Shirley Dozier Tinnon.
