Arvid Einar Myrold
July 14th, 1922 - February 27th, 2013
id=1363712276648S Arvid was born in Starheim, Norway on July 14, 1922 and went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2013. Arvid was the son of Karl and Hulda Jensen Myrold and was one of four children. He grew up and went to school in Starheim, Norway. At 17, he met and later married Edith Lillesalt from Selje, Norway. In 1943 Edith gave birth to their son Harold Olav. Arvid worked as a construction foreman and then commercial fisherman for about 16 years while Edith worked in a fishing cannery and cooked in a cafe in Maaloy. In 1959, he immigrated to Seattles Queen Anne area, to work in the construction trade with his Uncle Meyer Jensen. In 1961, Edith and Harold immigrated to Seattle to join Arvid. In 1964, Edith gave birth to their daughter Rita Elise Myrold (Moren). They settled in West Seattle until 1972 when they moved to Ballard, Seattles ethnically Scandinavian community. In the early 70s, Arvid started Myrold Construction and built many homes and apartment buildings in the greater Seattle and surrounding areas. He was a very skilled and talented carpenter. He did it all from framing and drywall to flooring and masonry work. He was quite the craftsman. On April 29, 2008, Arvid suffered a stroke paralyzing his right leg and arm and confining him to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. Even though he wasnt able to speak or walk, he most always was still in good spirits and was happy to see his family and friends when they came for visits. Arvid is survived by his son, Harold (Linda Roberts); daughter, Rita (John) Moren; his grandchildren: Hans Erik (Jamie) Myrold and Michaela Moren; great-grandson Aaron Myrold; and his brother Ditlef and sisters Lev Kline and Audhild (Sven) Sjo. Arvid will be deeply missed. He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, father, grandfather and gentle soul who could dance a mean waltz! lease join us for a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, April 28 th at 12:00 noon at the Nordic Heritage Museum 3014 NW 67 th , Seattle, WA 98117
