Mary Elizabeth Childers
May 16th, 1938 - February 28th, 2019
Mary Elizabeth Winstead Childers 80, passed away 02/28/2019 at the Brookdale Richmond Place Nursing Home in Lexington KY. She was Born in Floyd County,KY May 16, 1938. She was a graduate of Virgie High School. She had a career as a phlebotomist, Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medication Technician. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Willie Winstead as well as her siblings, Kenneth Winstead, Blanche Adkins, Gay Moran, Richard Winstead, Gerald Winstead, Dean Winstead, and Douglas Winstead. Mary is survived by her sons Kenny Childers, (Sarah)Lebanon KY, Clyde Childers, (Laura)Lexington KY , and John Childers, (Becky) of Lexington, KY. Seven Grandchildren, Evan Childers, Paul Childers, Mary Beth Childers, Reed Childers, Hannah Childers Kissich, Preston Childers and Sophie Childers. Sisters Peggy Cook, Charlotte Price, and Brother Herbie Winstead. Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date. Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Nursing Home and Bluegrass Hospice Care for their compassion and care.
