Nola Teresa Smith
September 26th, 1952 - February 9th, 2013
Nola, youngest daughter of Octave Smith and Colleen Emery Smith, passed away after a hard fought battle with ovarian and brain cancer. She leaves behind her three sisters Mary (Bill) Roberge, Janet (Fred) Sharp, and Barbara Peterson; her nieces and nephews Tori (Dave) Foley, Charlotte (Vince) Hess, Rob (Tara) Roberge, and Jason (Angie Poulton) Peterson; her great nieces and nephews Amber Dutton, CJ Dotson, Anna and David Foley, Giovanni Accetturo, Xavier Hess, Austin, Olivia and Amelia Poulton-Peterson. Nola graduated from Edmonds High School in 1970. She continued her education at the University of Washington, pursing her love of drama. While attending the UW she began working at the Lake City Fred Meyer, thus began her membership with the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 21 which she was associated for 38 years. In 1980 she joined Group Health as a Pharmacy Technician and moved on to Pharmacy Lead in the warehouse in 1989, celebrating her 25 th year with the warehouse team. After leaving Group Health 2008, she worked for a year at Scriber Gardens Retirement Community in Lynnwood, and in 2009 returned to the Lynnwood Fred Meyer, in the appeal department. Nola was a member of the Joyce Meyers and Kenneth Copeland ministries and hoped to be well enough to do missionary work when she retired. Nola will be greatly missed by her many friends, co-workers and extended family whom she kept in touch through the years. A celebration of Nolas life will be held on Sunday February 17th, at 4:00 p.m., at Scriber Gardens -6024 200 th Street SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036. Please bring a potluck dish to be shared. The family will provide soft drinks, coffee and an assortment of meats.
