Jerry E. Phillips, 76, husband of Sherry Goings Phillips, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. He was born in Junction City, KY on December 7, 1942 to the late Charles “Pete” and Bertha Anderson Phillips. He worked for the State of Kentucky as a Highway Engineer. Jerry was a member and deacon of Bellepoint Baptist Church. He was a former member and deacon of Providence Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Anthony) Southworth, Cincinnati; his son, Michael (Vicky) Phillips, Frankfort; his sister, Linda McFarland, FL; his brother, David Phillips, Junction City; and his grandchildren, Andrew Southworth, Aaron (Raegan) Southworth, Michael “Mikie” Phillips, and Nicole Phillips. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Bellepoint Baptist Church, Frankfort with Rev. Scott Van Neste officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Roger Cannada, Stevie Southworth, Anthony Southworth, Andrew Southworth, Aaron Southworth, Junior Wilson, Randy Adams, and Dylan Quinn. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Bellepoint Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Bluegrass.
