Jean Verna Stay
October 8th, 1924 - September 21st, 2011
Jean Verna (Van Skiver) Stay, 86, of Edmonds, Washington, died peacefully September 21, 2011. She was born October 8, 1924, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to John and Lorene Van Skiver, and grew up in Ballard. Jean married Donald H. Stay, who also attended Ballard High School, on November 1, 1949. They traveled and lived all over the United States and Europe before returning to the Pacific Northwest in 1970 and settling in Edmonds. Jean is survived by her daughter, Chris (Michael Pope) of Edmonds; son Gregory (Carla) of Houston, Texas; stepdaughter Lauren of Novato, California; grandchildren, Travis and Kiira Pope of Edmonds and Donald Stay of Northridge, California; sister-in-law, Marilyn Tangen (Donald); and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Don; their son, Andy; and her brother, Jack Van Skiver.
