William Demmers JR, (Bill Demmers) December 12, 2020 He is survived by his Wife Dorothy Demmers of Carlsbad, CA, three children son Eric (Alona) Demmers, of Harrodsburg Kentucky, Michael Demmers, of Portland, Ore., and Sharon Dunckle, of Anchorage, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Michael Dunckle, of Washington., and Yasmeen and Erica Demmers, of Harrodsburg, KY. Bill is also survived by his faithful companion Jolie. William was born in Brainerd, MN on March 13, 1924 and joined the United States Navy becoming a corpsman, serving in WW2, The Korean War and retired after 20 years of service. William then went on to work for Upjohn Pharmaceuticals as a medical surgical representative. William has lived in Carlsbad, CA for the last 30 years and loved walking the dog and talking to the neighbors. William Demmers has volunteered for the NAMM Foundation’s Museum of Making Music for over ten years. During that time he has provided tours as a trained docent to guests of all ages. His own background in music is fascinating. As a teenager Bill played trumpet in a traveling big band in the Mid West, played bugle as a service man during World War II and the Korean War and at one point also played the double bell euphonium. His volunteer efforts for NAMM also include dedicating hundreds of hours to the Resource Center where he worked on, among other projects, the Oral History collection. William will be missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
