Jacob McKinley “Jake” Lybrook, 29, Lexington, formerly Versailles, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021. Born June 16, 1991, in Lexington, he was the son of Patti (Brett) Butler and Joe Lybrook (Sammy Tudor). An employee of Grott’s Locksmith Center, Lexington, Jake was a 2010 graduate of Woodford County High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He loved drawing, playing his guitar & video games, camping, being outdoors, and enjoyed his artistic photography. Jake was an amateur sushi chef and enjoyed trying exotic food. He had an infectious laugh and gave amazing hugs. He was a friend who loved and encouraged others, always taking the opportunity to gather with his friends to enjoy a great meal, old music and laughs. He had an eclectic old soul when it came to his music preferences, with a love for classical, french, bluegrass, reggae, and obscure genres. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Madison Butler, Katie (Austin) Canaday, and Colleen Butler; grandparents, Phyllis Crisp Lybrook, Lowell Blake, and Lee Butler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara Holliday Blake, Charles Dee Lybrook, and Dorene Nunley Butler. A private service (by invitation) will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, beginning at 1pm, officiated by Dr. Wesley Noss & Pastor Bobby Lakes and the service will also be live-streamed to the general public on facebook @JacobLybrookMemorial Visitation of family and friends will follow at Faith Baptist Church, 3692 Huntertown Rd., Versailles, from 2:30 to 4:30pm. Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Canaday, Will Edens, Kevin Hamilton, Brian Hendricks, Aaron Lybrook, Scott Leet and Andrew Podgorski. Social distancing will be practiced; masks required.
