In 1983 he was chosen by his peers as one of six American hosts for the World Automotive Conference held in New York City at the Twin Towers. After retirement Ed enjoyed building new and maintaining his existing commercial properties, flying his Air Commander to Alaska and British Columbia, camping at Turner Lake while climbing Noeick Glacier, and traveling the world making new friends. His travels to Siberia, Kenya, Tibet, Russia, China, and South America were some of his favorite memories. His yearly shopping expeditions to London were epic in the toys he brought back to his friends as Christmas gifts.
