Merilyn Ann D’Ooge-93, November 4, 1927-February 21, 2021 After a brief illness in the hospital, Merilyn joyously flew Home to be with Jesus, her late husband, Len D’Ooge, and her youngest daughter Christine. Merilyn had trusted Jesus’ death on the cross as payment for her sins and was certain of her Eternal future in Heaven. Born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to Albert and Ida Christine Racke, she attended Highlands High School where she was a majorette and later was graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University and worked at the OSU Hospital until her first child was born. Merilyn then became a stay-at-home mother, rearing six children. She later worked as a Registered Nurse at Northland Terrace Nursing Home for 15 years. (Columbus, OH). Merilyn, adored her children, grand and great-grandchildren. She loved studying the Bible, and being a faithful choir member at Grace Brethren Church for many years. She loved animals, piano, flower arranging, knitting, dancing, cruises with Len, and above all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! After Len’s passing, she moved to Nicholasville, KY to be closer to family for 7 years. There, she became a very active and caring member of the Bridgepointe Christian Care Community. Finally, Merilyn made it known that she was ready to go LIVE with Jesus whenever He decided take her Home! A Memorial service will be held at Bridgepointe in Nicholasville at a later date. Graveside service will be held at 1pm Monday, March 8, 2021 in Flint Cemetery, 8187 Flint Rd Columbus, OH 43235. Memorial donations may be made to Porter Memorial Baptist Church, Lexington, KY or Grace Polaris Church of Columbus, OH
