James "JC" Charles Saylor, Jr.
June 22nd, 1935 - July 26th, 2021
James “JC” Charles Saylor, Jr., 86, husband of Lillie Craft Saylor, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021. Mr. Saylor was born June 22, 1935, in Coldiron, KY to the late Clara Blanton and James “Charlie” Charles Saylor, Sr. In addition to his wife, Lillie, of nearly 65 years, Mr. Saylor is survived by his daughter, Bethie Saylor; sons, Jimmy Saylor, Joe Saylor, Tommy (Shawn) Saylor, and Randy (Rhonda) Saylor; sisters, Shelby Jean Roy, Nadine (Howard) Saylor, Norma Conway, Phyllis Ann Bryant, and Genevieve (Joe) Aker; 12 Grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Mr. Saylor is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dorsel Saylor and Jerry Saylor; daughter in law, Laura Saylor; sister-in-law, Judy Saylor; and brother in laws, Bob Roy, Bill Bryant and Tommy Conway. Mr. Saylor worked as a welder for Rexnord/ Carrier for 30 years and attended the Kentucky school for the Deaf in Danville, KY. He and his wife lived in Louisville for 62 years, but had been residing with their son, Randy, in Lancaster for the last 3 years. Mr. Saylor was faithful to his Catholic Church from 1985 up until his death. Some of Mr. Saylors hobbies include, fishing, visiting his family in Harlan County, and he never missed a wrestling show. He loved eating peanut butter with syrup, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and loved to tell stories about big foot, ghosts, and stories of his childhood spent in Harlan County. Mr. Saylor's family describes him as having a big heart, an excellent handyman, and was the best husband, father and grandfather. He was always smiling and signing ILY to everyone, even strangers! His smile was memorable, never showed his tiredness, and kept smiling on the bad and good days. Funeral Mass will be held Friday July 30, 2021, at 4PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Visitation will start at noon until the time of service.
