Faith Delores Maurice

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend passed awayeacefully, on May 28, 2010at the age of 87. Faith was born in Sioux Fall, South Dakota on July 29, 1922 to Frank and Helena Mullaney and raised in Sturgis, South Dakota. She attended Saint Martins Academy through her Elementary and High School years and later attended Saint Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Aberdeen, S.D. and practiced her nursing credentials at Saint Johns Hospital in Rapid City S.D., Providence Hospital in Seattle, WA along with private nursing care in the Seattle area. She married Paul Chevalier Maurice on May 17 th , 1944. Faith was an active member of Saint Margarets Catholic Church Seattle, Saint Lukes Catholic Church - Shoreline and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Edmonds. Family was the focal point of her life, consistently putting her childrens needs above her own. Her home was open to any individual including the childrens friends all of whom became an extension to her family. She showered everyone with her love and compassion as she cared for everyone. In return she is loved by many and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband, Paul, of 66 years, her 14 children (9 boys and 5 girls) Leon (Kathryn), Tom (Roberta), Kathleen (James Stafford), Joseph (Laurie Herman), Dennis (Aletha), Judith Ryker, Maureen (Stan Lamping), Timothy (Cheryl), Colleen (Kelly Moran), Jerome (Nancy), Brian (Helen Baer), Mary Anne Bruggeman, Edward, Terrance (Michele). She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, her sister Sr. Jane Francis Mullaney and her brother Pat Mullaney. (See bottom for full survivor listing.) Faith is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Ben, Jim and Fr. Fabian Mullaney and grandson Joseph. She spent her final days at Clearbrook Assisted Living Center in Silverdale, WA and special attention was provided to her by their staff as well as Franciscan Hospice.
