Jimmy Hicks, 73, husband of Eva Hicks , passed away on the morning of September 12, 2022, surrounded by his children and wife. Jimmy was born in Lexington, Kentucky on October 8, 1948 to the late Chester Bernard and Evelyn Schultz Hicks. He was a Vietnam era veteran. Jimmy worked with IBM for 38 years and retired in 2011. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was a redeemed child of God, fully trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ for his salvation and eternal security. In addition to his wife, Eva, Jimmy is survived by his children, Kristina Joy (David) Maxberry of Lexington and James Matthew (Shelby) Hicks, of Lancaster; his sisters, Helen Malino, of Winchester, Susan (Eric) Fruge, of Lexington, and Patricia Hicks, of Lexington; brothers, Chester Bernard (Carol) Hicks II, of Florida, and Joseph Vincent (Kim) Hicks, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Tamra Nicole Sallee, Seandre Lamontez Maxberry, Kayden David Maxberry, and Evan Kaysen Maxberry; bonus grands, Little David, Alexus, and Kenneth Maxberry, Malaki, McKenna, Cheyanna, Raiden, and Charleigh; great-grandchildren Karter James Humphress and Jasper Cole Humphress; bonus great-grands, Bralynn and Hezikiah and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by sisters, Vivian DeBorde and Carolyn Warren; and an infant brother, Michael Hicks. A graveside service will be held for Jimmy on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 2pm in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4915 Harrodsburg Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
