Lenore Carol Fitzpatrick
December 23rd, 1923 - March 16th, 2018
Lenore Fitzpatrick passed away at home on March 16, 2018, at age 94. She was born in Chicago on December 23, 1923, daughter of Arthur and Lenore Busching. In 1948, she married Wayne Fitzpatrick in Chicago. They moved first to Portland, OR, had children, and then to Tacoma, WA, in 1959. Lenore was a florist in Tacoma and at Madigan Army Medical Center. She also volunteered for years at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Lenore loved to host fancy teas and elegant dinners for family and friends. After retiring, Lenore and Wayne traveled enthusiastically. She was an avid reader and studied world history extensively. Her interest in genealogy led her to trace both her and Wayne’s ancestors back hundreds of years through colonial times. She enjoyed many long-term friendships through her memberships in the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the United States Daughters of 1812. Lenore was preceded in death recently by Wayne, her husband of 69 years; also by her parents and her sister Lois. She is survived by her sister Gertrude; children Lynn (Jack), David (Marsha), and Gail (David); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial was at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
