Virginia Mary Jones Scovel was born to Joseph and Irene Jones in Kiowa, CO on September 23, 1931. Virginia came to Washington in about 1942 and graduated from Edmonds High School in 1949. She worked in various jobs, but retired after 13 years working for Fircrest. She received an award from the Governor for her outstanding work as an adult training specialist. Virginia was best known for her gardening skills. She loved working in her garden near to the end of her life. One of her other loves was for cocker spaniels. She had several through the years. She wrote a book about one named Daisy. She furnished all her family with beautiful paintings as she was very artistic. Family was very important to her and she tried to take care of everyone. Virginia attended the Edmonds Church of God. She was very active at Holly Hills where she lived. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Irene Jones, and her son, Thomas Dale Blandin. She is survived by her children Deborah Tinsley, Karen Samuel, Mary Blandin and Joseph Rupp plus grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
