Cathy Jean Collier Jett
March 14th, 1964 - April 21st, 2023
Cathy Jean Collier Jett, 59, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on April 21st, 2023 at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Lexington, KY, on March 14, 1964 to Robert W. Collier and Brenda Jean Manley Collier. She is survived by her husband, Terry, and their daughters, Lindsay Page (Seth), Amber Martin (Geoff), and Miranda Harper (Michael). The absolute joys of her life were her grandchildren, Christian, Lucas, Chloe, Shiloh, Moses, Ada, Clara, Logan, and Sebastian. Cathy is also survived by her father, Robert W. Collier, mother-in-law, Chloris Cooper, sister, Carmen Mabry (Richard), brother, Robert D. Collier (Shannon), aunt, Beverly Tyson (Mark), uncle, John D. Turner (Dee), and many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cathy is preceded in death by her sweet mama, Brenda Jean Manley Collier, and her beloved nephew, Davis Miller Turner IV. Cathy devoted over 20 years of her life to Alliance for Multispecialty Research/Central Kentucky Research Associates. She took pride in working to make a difference in the future of healthcare. Lovingly referred to as “Mama Jett” by her coworkers, she was often the care-taker in the office; listening to, comforting, reassuring, and loving her work family and her patients. She married Terry, the absolute love of her life, on June 21st, 1986. Their love story is powerful and inspiring. They lived their marriage vows every day, “for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health.” Their love and commitment to each other is unmatched. In Cathy’s final days, Terry worked tirelessly to make sure she always had fresh ice, plenty of Starry, Milo’s sweet tea, the perfect amount of sheet/blanket combo, and most importantly, that she was pain free, comfortable, and that the two of them shared plenty of laughter each day, until the very end. Services will be held at Clark Legacy in Nicholasville, KY. Visitation is on Tuesday, April 25th from 4pm- 7pm, and the funeral will be Wednesday. April 26th at 1:00pm, followed by a Chapel service at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Special thank you to the incredible staff at Baptist Health Lexington.
