All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Charles Nelson
June 22nd, 1943 - April 19th, 2018
Charles Michael Nelson was born on June 22, 1943, in Britton, South Dakota and went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2018. Chuck graduated from Edgeley High School in Edgeley, North Dakota in 1961. After working on the home farm for a few years, he attended NDSU and the Valley City State College taking agricultural courses. He eventually went to work for Northern Improvement. After moving to Denver in 1979, he began working as a cement plant operating engineer. He took early retirement from Aggregate Industries in 2001 due to poor health. He was married to Jeanne Mitchell on August 22, 1981, in Englewood, CO, and they called Northglenn, CO home. Two years later, they were blessed with a daughter Lindsay. Chuck spent many years serving at Denver First Church of the Nazarene in children’s church and working in the nursery. Attending Lindsay’s sporting events occupied many Saturdays. However, spending time with family and church friends in God’s great outdoors going on picnics, hiking, and camping was his favorite pastime. No summer was complete without going camping at Cherry Creek, Golden Bell Church Camp, and No Name Campground (followed by a day of soaking in Glenwood Springs). Vacations always included mountains and a lake or an ocean. Chuck’s last big adventure was frying his Texas Tators which took him to 72 cities in Colorado. More recently, Chuck spent his time serving at Crossing Church of the Nazarene and Flatirons Community Church. He considered himself very blessed to have a great group of friends that he met with weekly from both churches, and many faithful friends from Denver First Church continued to visit Chuck on a regular basis. Chuck will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jeanne, son Jason (Rachalia), Blaine, MN, daughter, Lindsay, Northglenn, CO; stepdaughters Tammy (Chris) Lillie, Littleton, CO, Leah (Bob) Kaeser, Denver, CO; grandchildren Tara (Glenn) Durham, Denver, CO, Jessica Lillie, Grand Junction, CO, Jakob Kaeser, Denver, CO, Sophia and Zoe Nelson, Blaine, MN; sisters, Marty Doyscher, Denver, CO, Carleen Syversen, Edgeley, ND, and Gail (Jim) Anderson, Mandan, ND; sister-in-laws Sue Nelson, Edgeley, ND and Jane Scheuer, Denver, CO, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his daughter Sonya, parents June and C.P. Nelson, brother L. Peter Nelson, brother David R. Nelson and sister-in-law Dar, and parent-in-laws Ira (Babe) and Evelyn Lucas, sister-in-law Judy Junghahn, and brother-in-law Don Scheuer.
