Carrie Ann (Glass) Reed passed suddenly from medical complications on October 4th, 2023. Beloved wife of Jon Patrick Reed, adored mother of Aiden Joseph Reed (21) and Griffin Daniel Reed (18), Carrie was steadfast in her love and devotion to her husband of 26 years and 2 boys. She was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Marsha (DeBell) Glass, Sister Megan Glass, Whitney (Bryan) Glover, nieces Casey, Cadence, and nephew Paxton Glover, Sister-In-law Paige (Matt) Partsch, niece Alex and nephew Elliott Partsch. Carrie was born in Pontiac Michigan October 26, 1970. She loved all Fiercely, and with a heart that you couldn’t think could hold as much as she did. Carrie was an advocate for the underdog and a lover of all animals, with special affection for the equine world and her Beloved Pug Buster. Her pride was her family. As a master negotiator, she understood the joy of "quality" and the score of a great deal. Music was a light in Carrie’s life, some of her favorites included The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Elton John. Carrie will also be remembered for her steel trap mind, her amazing vocabulary, and her ability to affect those around her by adding to their vernacular. Key words such as “Lady”, “Gob smacked”, “quality” and “all of my intel” will always remind those that loved Carrie of her and the unique way in which she squealed the words. She had a special gift for assigning those she loved with nicknames, Boo Boo Chicken, Tiny Dancer, Thunda, Swamp Donkey and so so many others. Carrie had a servant’s heart, constantly putting others ahead of herself and making all those around her feel loved and welcomed. She adored lifting others with encouragement, cards or a handcrafted basket of items that she knew would make the recipient “giggle”. Carrie went hard for all that knew her and was a constant and touchstone for many- the void is great. Carrie is survived by Aunts and Uncles Maury DeBell , Sandy and Neal Vanderwerven , Karen and Daryl Brown, Becky and Fred Barnott, Kathy and Tim Bachman and Jeff and Jenny Glass and many loving cousins, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Grace and Robert DeBell, paternal grandparents Ralph and Joyce Glass, and father and mother-in-law Kathryn and Jon Reed, brother-in-law Jacob Wigginton, Aunt JoAnn DeBell, and Uncle Greg Glass. The family would like to extend special thanks to John Dowdell and Kirsten Johnson and The Crew at the Blvd. Grill for their support in this unimaginable time. A Celebration of Life is planned for October 26th , her Birthday, to remember all things Carrie at Equus Run Vineyards, 1280 Moores Mill Rd, Midway, Ky 40357 from 5-8 pm. Gifts of Remembrance may be made to Jon and her sons via a memorial account established at the Lexington Branch of First Southern National Bank (859-223-3743) or Via Venmo to Jon-Reed-98.
