Clarice Henry Clark
January 7th, 1944 - December 22nd, 2023
Clarice Henry Clark, 79, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on December 22, peacefully, in the presence of her family. Clarice was born on January 7, 1944, to parents Chester and Maude Henry of Ashland, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. On the evening of December 14, 1969, Clarice was introduced by friends to a young man named Charles Clark. Six months later, on the Summer Solstice (June 21), they married. For 53 years they walked through life together, honoring the vows they promised to each other and to God. Her two children immediately brought light to her face. Nothing made her prouder than Drew and Stephanie. Clarice returned to Ashland Community College to pursue her degree in nursing. For 25 years she worked as a Registered Nurse allowing her to do what she loved most, help and heal others. Clarice was an avid artist and loved her flower gardens. She loved traveling and would reminisce about her years living in England on Upper Hayford Air Force Base with Charles while he served in the United States Airforce, or their adventures in Hawaii. She loved the ocean, where the salty air and warm sun made life slow and easy. It was there she was most peaceful. Clarice was predeceased by her father, Chester Henry; mother, Maude Henry Gussler; sister Diane Griffith; and niece, Michelle Friley. As well as her dachshunds, Stubby, Fritz, and Brady Jr. She is survived by her husband, Charles Clark; son, Jon Drew Anderson; daughter, Stephanie Clark Booth (Matthew); great niece, Brittany Brown (Cory), great nephew, Jordan Ratliff (Emily), and great niece, Logan Friley. As well as her dachshunds, Bentley and Winston. A celebration of life will be held at Clark Legacy Center (601 E Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356) on Friday, January 5 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital.
