Leonard Harry Hawkins

Leonard Harry Hawkins Leonard was born January 15, 1937 in Missoula, Montana, and passed away with his family by his side at his home in Seattle on February 20, 2019. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, he worked with his parents in the family business for several years, before finding his calling as a short-haul truck driver traveling far and wide across Western Washington. Leonard was an exceptionally hard worker, providing over the years not only for his immediate family, but for many extended family members and friends as well. He was always willing to lend a hand or funds to those in need, frequently placing the needs of others ahead of himself. He loved the Seahawks, occasional trips to the casino, a good salad and fruit bar, a healthy bowl of vanilla ice cream, and simply being at home. He is preceded in death by Gwen, the love of his life and his wife of 53 years; parents Anna and Harry; brothers Jerry and Ronald; and sisters Shirley and Ruby. He is survived by son Lenny, daughters Lisa (Brian) Bentcover, Kay (Jeff) Looney, Tobi (Jon) Browner, and Karen (Ron) Rhodes; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister Patty Dubois, and countless nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Kickoff is Sunday, March 3 at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave. S, Edmonds, with a viewing at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
