Darrel Lynn Young

Darrel Lynn Young, 74, husband of the late Beverly Hersherson Young, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born on May 20, 1948 to the late Charlotte Stone Young in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mr. Young was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served in Vietnam. He was the owner and operator of Young Sign Company for over 50 years and a member of Journey Church. Darrel loved all his customers. He loved cooking for people, especially the chocolate covered cherry pies. He loved deeply and he gave freely. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jonna Bryant, Versailles; son, Bobby Padgett, Versailles; grandsons, Jaxson and Jasper Byrant; brother, Paul Young, Paris; sister-in-law, Joni Edester, Versailles; and honorary son, Johnny Ratcliff, Versailles. In addition to his wife and mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Young and his sister, Wayne Young. Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, July 11, 2022 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Bobby Padgett, Johnny Ratcliff, Misty Ratcliff, Kenny Witten, Melvin Weber, Eric Willis, Robert Brock and Deanna Ramsey. Honorary casketbearers will be Jaxson and Jasper Bryant, Jeff Bryant, Tommy Jones, Joe Routt and Tom Bower.
