Jean White Minton Gruber

Jean M. Gruber, of Church Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015, following a brief illness. She was a long time member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Kingsport. She was a retired teacher's aid having worked 20 years at Washington Elementary School in Kingsport. She was preceded in death by her parents, White D. and Mary Kinzer Minton; sisters, Peggy Kirk (Marion), Mary Rose Cloud (Jack), and Bobbie Collins (Robert); brother, W. D. "Dave" Minton Jr; and infant granddaughter, Kristen Lynn Gruber. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, George Gruber; children, Jan Minton Gruber and Bruce Gruber and wife, Sandra Crawford; grandchildren, Kellye Gruber and fiance', Todd Henry, Tracey Sizemore and husband, Christopher; great-grandsons, Calvin and Timothy Sizemore; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to especially thank the following doctor and caregivers for their support for Jean and her family: Dr. Mack Hicks, Susan, Mary Ann and Palmyra; also they would like to thank special friends and neighbors, Jerry and Wanda Lifford for their love and support. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Randy Lantz officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport.
