Terry Lester Phillips

Terry Lester Phillips, 69 of Kingsport was called to his Heavenly home on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Kingsport and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended Steed Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in numerous locations. Terry was retired having worked as a Dispatcher for the City of Kingsport. He loved to make people laugh. He worked with the Children's Ministry in Dandridge, TN where he was known as, "Farmer T". He was of the Christian Faith recently attending Camp Hope Church in Allendale. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Phillips; mother, Nina Hartsock Greene and his grandmother, Thelma Hartsock. Survivors include his loving wife, Lorelie Elumbaring Phillips of the home; his two daughters, Lucretia Phillips-Collins of Weber City and Tera Snodgrass & husband Jeff of Kingsport; granddaughter, Brenna "Little Bit" Snodgrass; sister, Reba McCray & husband Charles G. of Kingsport; niece Teresa Kingham & husband Neville of Kingsport; special cousin, Betty Minor; and his "fur babies", J. Bee, Princess, and Melody. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel with Pastor Jim Hagy, Pastor Douglas Messer, Pastor Jeff Snodgrass, Sr., officiating. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Phillips family.
