Joseph Roger Demosthenes

Dr. Joseph R. Demosthenes, M.D. passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was 77 years old. A native of Haiti, born March 13, 1939 to Antone and Basilia Ferdinand Demosthenes, he moved here from Arizona 33 years ago. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a member of the AMA. Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Demosthenes is survived by his wife, Rosa Maria Ferreiro; his children, Joseph Roger Demosthenes, Jr., David D. Demosthenes and his wife, Ann Marie and their daughter, Renette; brothers, Michael Mathurin, Antoine Y. Demosthenes, M.D. and his wife, Karen, Armand Demosthenes, M.D. and his wife, Josie and his brother-in-law, Dieudonne Maurice, M.D.; sisters, Perpetua Degroff, Marie Juline Dieudonne, Florence Demosthenes, Solanges Depas and her husband, Edgar and Gladys Demosthenes; niece, Dominique Brown and her husband, Michael; aunt, Antoinette Creve-Coeur; nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 4-6 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Wahneta, Florida.
