Carolyn W. Peel, age 62, beloved wife and mother, died at 4:12pm on August, 2, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 8, 1946 in St. Charles, Arkansas to Polly Edith West and the late Burgon West. She attended grade school and high school in St. Charles and attended Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. On November 5, 1975, she was united in marriage to Edward B. Peel in Memphis, Tennessee. Carolyn and Edward lived in Bowie, Maryland; Elkhart and Warsaw, Indiana; Naugatuck and Danbury, Connecticut before retiring to Venice, Florida in 2005. Carolyn worked at Uniroyal Chemical Co. in Naugatuck for several years. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Edward; her son and his wife Chase and Amy, granddaughters, Madelyn and Elizabeth all of Encino, California; her daughter and her husband, Ashley Peel Pinkham and Andrew Pinkham of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her mother, Polly Edith West, one brother, Paul West, both of Dewitt, Arkansas; and one sister, Shirley Parker, St. Charles, Arkansas. She is further survived by four nieces, one nephew, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Judy West. Visitation and services will be private. Burial will be held at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation or TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care.
