Patricia S. Harkins, 61 of Nokomis, FL passed away July 29, 2008 at the TideWell Hospice House in Venice, FL. Patricia was born March 13, 1947 in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Helen (Bolger) Slane. Patricia moved to Nokomis 6 years ago from Littleton, CO where she had been working for Lockhead Martin as a planning engineer. She earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Connecticut where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and was a member of Mission Valley Country Club. Patricia is survived by her husband Rob of 23 years, daughters Jennifer Morris of Parker, CO and Julie Borgerding of Highlands Ranch, CO; step daughters Heather Moenning of Fort Collins, CO and Heidi Harkins of Dallas, TX; brother Joseph Slane of Connecticut; sister Sharon Mikan of South Carolina; and 8 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Patricia’s name to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
