Ralph H. Williams, MD 80 of Venice, Florida passed away June 15, 2008 at his home. Dr. Williams was born June 26, 1927 in Plymouth, Pa the son of the late Ralph and Harriett (Crooks) Williams. He moved to Venice 23 years ago from Hagerstown, Maryland. He was the Chief of Radiology and former Chief of the medical staff at Washington County Hospital both located in Hagerstown, Maryland until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the United States Navy; St. Marks Episcopal Church; The Shriners; the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Maryland, Venice Masonic Lodge 301 F. & A.M.; a graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa; Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia; Venice Yacht Club, Venice American Legion Post #159; the Morris Frock American Legion Post #42 and the Elks Club located in Venice and Hagerstown, Maryland. Survivors include daughter Leslie and husband David McGlynn both of Bozeman, Montana, sons Dana and wife Susan of Nashville, Tennessee and Todd and wife Teresa of Atlanta, Georgia, grandchildren, Erin Tate and husband Patrick, Megan, Kirsten, Bethany, Bennett, Reid and Grant Williams, Riley and Logan McGlynn. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Cordie Read Williams in 2000, and brothers, Robert Crooks and Donald James Williams. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dr. Williams name to Shriners Hospital Crippled Childrens c/o Sahib, Temple, 600 North Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL 34232.
