Gudrun E. Cipriano

Gudrun E. Cipriano, 67, of Venice, Florida, died Monday, June 2, 2008 after a very brief illness of lung cancer. Gudrun was born on Sept. 25, 1940 in Lieblos, Germany She was the daughter of Heinrich and Ana Weingartner Gudrun is a graduate of Gelhausen Business College. She moved to New York City in 1959. Her business career included working as a Business Operations Manager for some of the largest ad agencies in the New York Area to include Papert, Koenig Lois, Rumrill-Hoyt and Saatchi and Saatchi. She was an avid golfer and was Club Champion at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, New Jersey. In 1985, Gudrun and her husband Bob became snowbirds. and purchased a home at the Plantation Golf & Country Club. In 1990 they left New Jersey and became permanent full- time residents of Florida. Gudrun was Assistant to the Controller at Babe’s Plumbing. She competed in many golf tournaments and won numerous awards, trophies and recognitions. Gudrun was a fabulous cook especially of German and Italian cuisine. She was the best friend you could ask for, the greatest wife, kindest step-mother, and most honorable employee. She had the voice of an angel, classic style and a smile that warmed your heart. She loved Elvis almost as much as Opera. She loved to laugh. She had so much energy and was quite the dancer. She made the most out of every moment of her life Gudrun will always be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her loving husband of 25 years, Robert Cipriano, four step-children, Robert, Emil, Donna and Peter; and residing in Germany, a sister Mina Dietz and her brothers’ Helmut and Hans Peter Weingartner and she was a beloved aunt of nieces and nephews. Gudrun’s family and friends want to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tidewell Hospice for their support, comfort and the care they provided. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 1:00-3:00PM & 5:00-7:00PM and Friday, June 6, 2008 from 1:00-3:00PM & 5:00-7:00PM. A funeral service will be held at 5:30pm at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Her remains will be interred in the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn. New York Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
