Robert W. Metzger, Sr., 79 a winter resident of Florida for the past 12 years and former 30 year resident of Saginaw, Michigan passed away January 22, 2008 at his winter home in Venice. Robert was born June 5, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Enoch and Anita Metzger. Robert was a Product Manager for the Dow Chemical Company for 34 years and also taught at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan for 10 years. He was a member of Christ Church in Flint and served on the Vestry, he was an Eagle Scout as well as a Scout Master for many years. For the past 40 years Robert and his wife Dorothy shared there time together Square Dancing. Robert leaves behind his wife of 56 years Dorothy, sons; Robert, Jr. and wife Linda of Sylvania, Ohio, Michael and wife Kathy of Severna Park, Maryland, Carl and wife Bonnie of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and Brian and wife Terrie of Claremont, North Carolina, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
