Clyde E. Juenger
October 18th, 1931 - January 17th, 2008
Clyde passed away peacefully on January 17, 2008 at his home in Florida surrounded by his family and friends. He was born October 18, 1931 in Biddleborn, IL and resided in Marissa, IL until 1996 when he divided his time between Illinois and Venice, FL. Clyde was baptized and confirmed at Biddleborn Trinity United Church of Christ where he was a lifelong member. He belonged to the brotherhood of Biddleborn and Darmstadt. He was also Past Master of the Marissa Masonic Lodge #881, Past Patron of Amaryllis Eastern Star #750 of Marissa, IL, past member of the Lions Club, current member of Ainad Temple of East St. Louis, IL and Sahib Temple of Sarasota, FL, Venice Shrine Club, Keystone Kops, the Scottish Rite of Southern Illinois and the Moose of Venice, FL. He retired as a Director from Peabody Coal Company and after 42 years of service. His passions included raising cattle, playing cards with friends and family, singing, watching Cardinal baseball games and watching the sunrise over the gulf. Clyde enjoyed his winters in Venice, FL, where he was an active member of the Venice Isle community. There, he participated in the choir at the Evangelical Covenant Church where he was an active member and he also performed with the Men’s Glee Club. He was grateful for the many blessings in his life which included the wonderful friendships he had and for all the love and support from his family. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Stephen Paul and David Ronald Juenger; parents, Leonard and Armeta Juenger; his sister, Rosalie Mullins and brother-in-law, Harold Birkner, in laws, Adrian and Willadene Dillon and brother-in-law, Barry Dillon. Clyde is survived by his wife, Adriene whom he married in 1969; sons, Jerry (Janel) Juenger of Marissa, IL, David (Shana) Mesch of Lenzburg, IL, Darren (Rena) Mesch of Germany, Danny (Gina) Mesch of Marissa, IL; daughters, Stephanie (Chris) Wallace of Denver CO and JoAnn (Russ) Suemnicht of Belleville, IL; grandchildren: Lindsay (Matt) Steely, Paul Juenger, Laura, Ashlee and Sam Scheid, Amanda Wallace, Ben, Michele and LeeAnn Suemnicht, Daniel, Eddie, and Dillon Mesch, Libby Mesch, John Mesch, Brittany Murell and Jessica MacCarthey; great grandchildren: Hannah Steely, Jacob, Justin and Jordan MacCarthey; sisters, Darlene (Vernon) Recker of New Athens, IL and Myra (Dale) Reuss of Waterloo, IL; aunts, Violet Briesacher of Belleville, IL and Eleanor Schmitz and brother-in-law, Leonard Mullins of New Athens, IL.
