William H. May
December 17th, 1916 - January 16th, 2008
William H. May, age 91, of Venice, FL died on January 16, 2008. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 17, 1916, and came to Venice in 1973 from Oxon Hill, MD. He worked in the US Government Printing Office for 18 years before retiring in 1973. Mr. May served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 8118, the American Legion Post 159, and the Venice High 12 Club, all in Venice. He was also active in the Concordia Lodge #67 in Philadelphia. Surviving family members include his sisters Doris Siuda Mang of Philadelphia, PA, and Frances Harrison of Hicksville, NY; nephews James D. May of Palmyra, NJ, Russell May of Wilmington, NC, and Robert May of Audubon, NJ; nieces Bette Jane Germain and Lynne Harrison, both of Hicksville, NY, Linda Muzyk of Woodhaven, MI, and Dorothy Ackerman of Williamston, NJ. No local services are planned at this time, burial will be in Maryland. Memorial donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
