Leonore Irene Esbig Dowlen, 81, of Venice, previously of Lanesboro, MA, passed away on November 8, 2007. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on December 10, 1925. Leonore was a humble artist, skilled in quilting and sewing. She had enjoyed knitting and sewing clothing for migrant workers during her life. Leonore was a loving mother to her children, and a devoted wife to her husband of 62 years Lee “Tex” Dowlen, whom had preceded her in death earlier this year. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice. Survivors include a son David of Bennington, VT; daughter Deborah Obeid and husband Rick of Sarasota; granddaughter Alyssa Obeid and her fiance David Gerhardt of Sarasota. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative care, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.
