Thomas F. “Doc” Brennan, age 67, of North Port, passed away on September 20, 2007 at the Bay Pines VA Hospital in Bay Pines, Florida. He was born in Waltham, Mass. on May 14, 1940. He retired with the rank of Senior Command Master Chief from the United States Navy after 31 years of service. He served two tours during the Vietnam War. He has lived in the Venice North Port area since 1989. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Charlotte; daughters, Kris Moye of Pensacola, Florida, Kelly Garrett of Pensacola, Florida, Donna Arabie of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Lori Phillips of Venice, Florida; brothers, George Brennan of North Port, Florida, Ernest Brennan of Cambridge, Mass, Austin Bennett of Belmont, Mass, Jackie Brennan, and a sister, Mary Carbone of New Hampshire. He also leaves behind eight loving grandchildren. A gathering of friends will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 10:00-11:00AM with a service to follow at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. Burial will be held later in the National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1040 Woodcock road suite 119, Orlando, Florida 32803. Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida is handling the arrangements.
