Ruth E. Ferber, age 93, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away on July 27, 2007. She graduated with honors from Norwalk School of Nursing (Yale University). She practiced nursing on the contagious ward in Memphis, Tennessee and in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was an artist, published novelist, gardener, gourmet cook, and researched and developed low cholesterol recipes. She was a gifted mathematician and grammarian. She is survived by her children. Joseph J. Ferber of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Marlene Robinson of London, England and Melissa Hurwitz of Potomac, Maryland. She also leaves behind three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Leon Ferber. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 – 11:00AM at Venice Memorial Gardens.
