Dorothy J. Conroy of Marble, NC, formerly of North Port, FL passed away June 20, 2007. She was born August 4, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY. She was 93. Mrs. Conroy was a homemaker and was married for 50 years to her husband, Francis A. Conroy, who died in 1985. She was an Auxiliary member of the VFW Steinkamp Bros. Post 853 in New York City. She held the office of President of the Auxiliary for two years and was the Secretary for many years. She will be greatly missed by her son, Frank Conroy and his wife, Christine of Marble, NC; daughter, Eileen Murphy and her husband, Peter of North Port, FL; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Peter, Michael, Maryanne, Stephen, Monica, Howard, Tyler and Holly; great grandchildren: Calla, Thomas, Annie-Ruth, Megan, Kristina, Tyler and Emma. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan M. Henriksen in 1989. Farley Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A Visitation will be held from 7-8 PM, Thursday, June 28 at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM, Friday, June 29 at San Pedro Church with interment immediately following the Mass at Venice Memorial Gardens.
