Walter W. Baker, age 92, of Casey Key, Florida, passed away on June 4, 2007. He was born on August 26, 1914 in Petroleum, West Virginia. He was the co-owner of OL Baker & Sons in Wickliffe, Ohio and retired in 1972. He moved to Casey Key in 1980 from Willoughby Hills, Ohio. He was a member of Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church in Nokomis. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Harriet B. Baker; daughter, Dorothy Powell of Louden, Tennessee; son, Kenneth Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia; brother, Davis S. Baker of Nokomis, Florida and a sister, Annette Stedman of Nokomis, Florida. He also leaves behind two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be private for the family at Jesse Knight Memorial Cemetery in Nokomis. A memorial service will be held at Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church “Memorial Fund”, 208 Palm Avenue, Nokomis, Florida 34275 or to TideWell Hospice & Palliative 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238. Farley Funeral Home of Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
