William R. Wells of North Port passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 10, 2007. He was 77. He was born March 5, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH and moved to Florida from Lancaster, PA in 1991. He retired in 1991 from N.C.R. Corporation after 41 years. He was an avid boater and lifetime member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley; son, David and wife Kathy of Port Charlotte; son, Daniel of Venice; sister, Marilyn Wells of Venice; grandson, Andrew and wife Jodi of Sarasota; and granddaughter, Danielle of Talmage, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory, North Port Chapel, is handling arrangements. Inurnment will be at Venice Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. Friends may visit anytime online at www.farleyfuneralhome.com to sign a guest register book and to extend condolences to the family.
