Teodosia Kowerko, 85, of Port Charlotte, passed away on December 8, 2006. Born in Zboriw, Ukraine on May 28, 1921. She was a previous resident of Yonkers, NY and New Brunswick, NJ where she had owned and operated restaurants. After retiring in 1985, she came to live in Port Charlotte. She was a member of various Ukrainian organizations and of St, Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed embroidery and making traditional Ukrainian costumes. Survivors include her daughter Orysia Husak of Gold Canyon, AZ; son Andrew of Port Charlotte; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Sunday with Panachyda to follow at the Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 10 AM the following day at the funeral home and proceed to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. Friends may log on anytime to www.farleyfuneralhome.com to sign a guest book or extend condolences to the family.
