Burton Clifford Brown, 86, of Venice passed away December 8, 2006. He was born August 12, 1920 in Chicago, IL and moved to the area in 1982 from Bethel Park, PA. He was a Salesman for the Prince Gardner Company in St. Louis, MO and Pittsburgh, PA. He was 1st Lt. Officer of WWII, Army; POW for 100 days; he received his Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster; Bronze Star Medal for Meritorius Service; member of the Lion’s Club; he was elected in 1994 to the Venice City Council; Venice Sail and Power Squadron; V.F.W.; American Legion 159; 12th Armored Division Association; He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science. Survivors include his nephew, Robert DeCamp of Wellsboro, PA; two nieces: Beverly Heinrich of Scott Plains, NJ and Barbara Hammack of Lisle, IL. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Grace United Methodist Church. Farley Funeral Home is in charge.
