Anthony V. Greco
January 8th, 1924 - November 10th, 2006
Anthony V. Greco, 82, of Venice, formerly of Crofton, MD; passed away in Sarasota on November 10th. Born in Suffern, NY on January 8, 1924, he joined the Army in 1942 and served in WWII, having seen action at the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. After a three-year hiatus following the war, he rejoined the Army and was assigned to General Eisenhower’s staff to establish a telephone system in Paris. He was sent to Vietnam in 1956, serving until 1958 as one of the first military advisors. He retired from active duty as a Captain after 13 years of service. He continued to serve as a contractor for the Dept. of Defense; having worked for Hughes Aircraft before retiring to Florida in 1989. He was a founding member of the Friendly’s at the Plantation Country Club and was a member of Epiphany Cathedral. Preceded in death by his first wife Georgette in 1989; he is survived by his wife Lois Mason of Venice; daughter Linda and son Robert both of Crofton; sister Anita DiBartolo of Whippany, NJ; grandchildren Michael and Emma both of Crofton.
