July 18th, 1920 - September 16th, 2006
Howard L. Taylor passed away in North Port on September 16th, he was 86 Years old. Born in Andover, OH on July 18, 1920; he was a lifelong resident of Akron, OH. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Akron and later received his PhD. in Statistics and Economics from Iowa State College. He returned to the University of Akron as a Professor of Statistics where he taught for 35 years. Upon retiring in 1988, he and his wife began spending seasons in North Port. He was a veteran of the Army Air corps during WWII and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Stow, OH. Survivors include his wife Betty of 62 years; two daughters, Susan Steinen of Van Wert, OH and Karen Heffley of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; son Bruce of Almaty, Kazakhstan; step brother James Dutton of Jefferson, OH; step sister Janet Kirk of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren.
