Nicholas Calamaras, 83, died September 14, 2006. He was born September 29, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. He moved to Venice, FL 15 years ago from Mt. Laurel, NJ. He was a Navy Pilot having served in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1966. He was a Corporate Pilot for 15 years for Borderes Electronics/Doyle Engineering in NJ. He was a member of the American Legion Post #159 and a member of the Silver Eagles Military Flyers Association. Survivors include his beloved wife, Margot; son Dean Calamaras of Decatur, GA; two step-sons: David Sankey of Limerick, PA and Stephen Sankey of Delran, NJ; two step-daughters: Patricia Bortner and Jeanine Sankey, both of Delran, NJ; sister, Helen Kyriacos of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brother Peter Calamaras of Sarasota, FL; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Farley Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Services will be in NJ. Memorial donations may be to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238.
