Nicholas Lakos, age 82, of Nokomis, FL died on September 10, 2006. He was born in New Bedford, MA on November 16, 1923, and after 15 years as a winter resident, moved to Nokomis 2 years ago from East Sandwich, MA. He was the owner/operator of Classic Coiffures in Winchester, MA. Mr. Lakos was a member of St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church in Sarasota, FL, and a WWII Navy veteran. Surviving family members include his wife of 45 years, Yole, of Nokomis; sons James of Sterling, MA, John of Londonderry, NH, Chris of Salem, NH, Steve of Billerica, MA, and Paul of Salem, NH; a brother, William Lakas of New Jersey; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas. Services will be planned at a later date.
