Jerry A. Carpenter
May 9th, 1939 - August 6th, 2006
Jerry A. Carpenter, age 67, of North Port, Florida passed away on August 6, 2006 at the Port Charlotte Hospice House. Jerry was born in Warrensburg, Missouri in 1939 to James W. Carpenter and Gladys M. Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Bates Carpenter, in 1989, of North Port, Florida. Jerry attended high school and worked for International Harvester until graduating in 1957. Jerry entered the construction field and retired in 2001. After retirement he moved to Indiana to be with his friend Dorothy Tackett who passed away February 16, 2004. Jerry enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. Jerry is survived by his daughter and son in law Dana and Mike Pratt of North Port, two grandsons Ryan Johns and Garrett Swartz both of North Port, as well as aunts and cousins in Missouri. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at his daughter’s home in North Port, Florida Saturday, August 19, 2006. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
