Alexander G. Santomauro passed away in Venice on May 14, 2006 he was 83 years old. Born December 16, 1922 in Jersey City, NJ; he was a resident of Wail Township, NJ before moving to Venice in 1989. A veteran of the Navy, he served on the USS Burleigh during WW II. He worked as a first class power house electrician for Kearney, NJ until retiring in 1980. He then became an instructor at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant and was a past secretary of the Monmouth Bowling Association. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing; he mostly enjoyed quality time with his family. He is survived by his wife Marie; his sons Richard, Anthony, Thomas, their wives, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 9:30 AM on Friday, May 26th at St. Catharine’s Catholic Church, 2nd Ave & Salem Ave Spring Lake, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, South Sarasota/Desoto Unit, 2801 Fruitville Rd Suite 250 Sarasota, FL 34237.
