Gregory Shawn Smith, 41, of Venice, Florida died May 5, 2006. He was born April 7, 1965 in Melbourne, FL and moved to this area in 1989 from Kissimmee, FL. Mr. Smith was a stay at home father. He was a member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Sarasota, FL. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Sarah Smith and his son Adam Smith, both of Venice; his wife Nicole Smith of Venice; father Ted Smith of Venice; mother Frances Smith-Merrill of Venice; step-father Stanley Merrill of Venice; sister Melissa Smith of Venice; 4 brothers David Smith of Venice, Bill Smith of Venice, Jeff Smith of Sarasota and Jesse Baird of West Palm Beach, FL. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday, May 10th, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Service will be held in Venice at a later date. Farley Funeral Home, Venice, FL is in charge of arrangements.
